FAQ’s

1 What is Mu Delta Alpha Sorority, Inc. and who can join?

Mu Delta Alpha is the first Muslim-interest sorority in the United States, founded at the University of Texas at Dallas. We are open to college-enrolled women of all backgrounds who believe in our values of Islam, sisterhood, professionalism, and service. You do not need to be Muslim to join, but you must respect and uphold the inclusive and faith-centered mission we represent.

Yes. MDA was created to provide a safe, empowering, and spiritually respectful space where Muslim women can thrive academically, professionally, and socially—without compromising their values. Our events, leadership programs, and community service projects are designed to foster growth in a halal, judgment-free environment.

3. Does Mu Delta Alpha participate in hazing or harmful pledge practices?

Absolutely not. Mu Delta Alpha has a zero-tolerance policy for hazing or any form of abuse. We are a legally incorporated 501(c)(7) nonprofit and a proud member of the National Multicultural Greek Council (NMGC). All intake and member education activities are aligned with national anti-hazing laws and university regulations.

Members are expected to participate in chapter meetings, service events, and leadership development programs. Financially, there are national and chapter dues to support operations, insurance, and philanthropy—but we are fully transparent about costs before intake. We prioritize quality over quantity, and members are encouraged to balance academics and sorority life.
